Black Widow

Was like walking through the jungle

                  into large spider webs

You get all tangled up

                  in the goss-a-mer threads

And then it’s hard to make a move

                  for fear of being dead

When you see this big black lady

                  aiming straight for your head

That ol’ black widow

the one that’s on the prowl

That ol’ black widow

her bite will bring a howl

Of fear and pain

                  that will remain

Until you then fall over

                  but will you cry

Or will you die

when she makes you her lover

Black widows are notorious

                  for her sweet sensuality

But she may well turn on you

With her split person-al-ity

When her moods become mercurial

                  as they will always do

And when she turns volatile

It’s a dangerous thing for you

That ol’ black widow

                  wants you for her own

That ol’ black widow

                  will surely take you home

To tie you up in her web

of that you can be sure

To take you when she wants you

her reasons - not so pure

Be afraid of that black widow

the one that’s on the prowl

That ol’ black widow

her bite will bring a howl

Of fear and pain

                  that will remain

Until you then fall over

                  you will sin

And she will win

when she makes you her lover

This spider likes to weave a web

                  that’s not so delicate

To keep her prey from leaving

and to stay within her net

She is stunning but oh so cunning

With her red hour glass

You think you have her figured out

                  until you feel the crash

Stay away from these black beauties

is the best advice to give

Don’t let their charms fool you

if you really want to live

Don’t listen to all the sweet talk

that they will have for you

They only want the conquest

And your head on which to chew

That ol’ black widow

the one that’s on the prowl

That ol’ black widow

her bite will bring a howl

Of fear and pain

                  that will remain

Until you then fall over

                  but will you cry

Or will you die

when she makes you her lover

She will lie and she will cry

to try and win you over

She’ll even act a little shy

so as not to blow her cover

She will act so innocent

                  and pretend she’s pleasing you

But trust in this important fact

her aim will be, “I do”

This lady wants one thing from you

                  and that’s to have control

She only wants your song to sing

and be in charge of your soul

So look into her cold cold heart

                  so very carefully

To recognize the blackened part

will be what sets you free

When the ol’ black widow

the one that’s on the prowl

That ol’ black widow

wants to bite and bring a howl

Of fear and pain

                  that will remain

Until you then fall over

                  when you cry

And then you die --

so do not become her lover
