The Full Moon

The Sun-Moon.

                                                         Gallant in its watch,

                                             Brightly shines

                                                         Over Shadow’s edge.

                                             Obscuring the nearest stars

                                                         In its brightness time.

                                             Illuminates exposed surfaces,

                                             Illuminates an inner being.

                                             Traveling slowly across night’s sky

                                                         Giving wisdom along its way,

                                             Hearing the nightbird’s song,

Hearing the hum of cricket’s cry.

                                             Awakens memories

                                                         Of nights long past;

                                                     Same sphere,

                                                         Same shine,

                                                         Same uplifted passion.

                                             Yet,

                                                         Different time,

                                                         Different space,

                                                         Different passion direction.

                                         A single night

                                                         Transforms Being into beauty,

                                             Beauty into yearning,

                                                         Yearning into fulfillment,

                                             Assuaging the timeless need.

                                             Only to be awakened again

                                                         Under another balm-orbed eve

                                             By another

                                                         Sun-moon

                                             And another

Memory.
